Deleting an existing Work Item in the Work Item Register

 

1.In the “Work Item” register select the Work Item to be deleted using the mouse. The selected “Work Item” will be high lighted in blue.  To block select multiple Work Items for deletion, on the key board depress the “Shift” key whilst simultaneously selecting the first and last Work items in the block for deletion with the mouse, the selected block of “Work Items will be high lighted in blue;
 

2.Select “Delete” from the register control buttons located on the bottom right hand side of the screen;
 

3.The “Delete Pay Item(s)” menu is displayed confirming the name of the Work Item(s) to be deleted
 

 

4.Select “Yes” to delete the Work Item(s)
 

5.Select “No” to cancel delete
 

6.Work Items are used widely in other Registers, QAntrol will not allow a Work Item to be deleted where it is linked or referenced to other  records in the database.  “A QAntrol Error…” will be encountered when attempting to delete a Work Item linked to other records, where these Error Statements are displayed then the Work Item will not be deleted.
 

 
Investigating Linked Records to Work Items:
 
Linked records to Work Items maybe identified using the Linked Records function.  All identified linked records to a Work Item will require deleting in order to delete a Work Item.
 
To identify linked records to a Work Item:
 
a) In the “Work Item” register select the Work Item to be investigated for linked records using the mouse. The selected “Work Item” will be high lighted in blue;
 
b) Right mouse click, the actions menu will display, select “Linked Records”;
 

 
c) The “Linked Records” editor will display showing all records linked to the selected Work Item;
 

 
d) Select Print to print a hardcopy of the list, or OK to close.
