Packages

Overview

 

The Package Register allows the creation, definition and valuation of project “Packages”.  The use of Packages is optional.  A “Package” is a discrete separable portion of the Works generally defined in terms of a geographical location within the Project and is capable of reporting work completed across multiple “Schedules”.

 

Lots created in the Lot Register maybe assigned a Package type.  The Package type is a reported field in the Lot, NCR, Testing and Supplier Registers.  The use of Packages allows the staged reporting, collation and handover of Quality Compliance Documentation.

 

The “Package” structure is User defined and should be set-up at the commencement of the project and before any lots are raised.  The “Package” structure should be selected by consideration of the Head Contract to identify any specified Separable Portions or early handover areas.

 

 

To navigate to the Package register in QAntrol:

 

1.Select “Project” from the main menu
 

2.The Project sub menu appears
 

3.Select “Packages”, the “Packages” register appears.
 

4.Register entries or changes are made using the register control buttons located on the bottom left hand side of the screen.

The “Package” Register displays the following columns in the register:

Code

The “Code” column displays an alpha or a numeric short form (generally no more than 5-10 digits) identifier code used to aid “Package” selection and identification in other QAntrol registers.

Description

The Package “Description” column displays the title or description of the work grouped under the Package.

Amount

The “Amount” column displays the sum of the actual value to date for all Work Items entered under a Package.   Work Items maybe linked to individual Lots and assigned a “Lot quantity”. The “Amount” = ∑ “Work Item Lot Quantities” x “Sell Rate”.
