Open the Lot Editor (either click Add or Edit on the Lot Register screen)
The Lot Information tab has three main sections: Lot Information, Key Dates and Responsibility.
Fields requiring mandatory entry are identified by a red circle with an exclamation mark and require entries to enable the “OK” button to save the new Lot record. By placing the mouse pointer over each red circle, QAntrol will display the minimum entry requirements for that field. On entry of the required information the red circle will disappear. If the OK button on the bottom right hand side of the screen is opaque then you have not completed all mandatory field entries.

Key Dates and Their Usage
Measurement of Days Gtd (Days Guaranteed) is a good performance indicator and is used by QAntrol to report on Engineer performance on the Dashboards and in the monthly QAntrol report.
All lots having Days Gtd greater than 40 days are automatically listed in My QAntrol under the Lots Guaranteed > 40 days section to ensure assigned Responsible Engineers are reminded to close out these outstanding lots.
Lots with a Conforming Status are considered to be complete in every respect including full demonstrated compliance in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plan.
Security Concerns with Closed Date Field
The Closed date field is a recognised operation in Security Manager and user access for entry into the Closed date field may be restricted if required. Restricted access, once set will prevent unauthorised access to the Closed date field, however unauthorised users will still be able to see any entries made in this field in relief. As the Closed field is the gateway to Lot conformance it is good practice to exercise tighter control over this field. This may involve adopting a centralised approach by appointing a Quality Manager or Quality Representative to reviewing all Lot compliance documentation and be responsible for granting Lot Conformance by entry of a date in the Closed field.
To set security around the Closed field the following Operation CloseLot needs to be excluded from the applicable Role using the QAntrol Security Manager.
Please refer to the Security Manager section.
Non-conforming Lot Status
The Lot Current Status may also be Non-Conforming. A Lot showing a status of Non-Conforming must have at least one open Non-Conformance linked to the Lot. An open Non-Conformance (ie. with status Non-conforming) linked to any Lot will automatically cause the Lot status (regardless of the previous status) to be overwritten with status Non-Conforming.
A closed Non-Conformance (ie with status Conforming) linked to any Lot will not affect the current Lot status.
All Non-Conformances linked to a Lot will be displayed in the Register Links Summary located to the right of the Key Dates section and will show the Non-conformance Number and current status.
Responsibility Entry
These entry fields are completed when the lot is first created and assign accountability for the Lot to the Contractor (mandatory) and the Superintendent or Client (Optional).
